The body of my work, painterly and expressionistic, is an avid search for a personal idiom that expresses my basic temperament, my scribble-scrabble Kilroy on the backyard fence.

Raoul Middleman attended the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Skowhegan, and the Brooklyn Museum School. He has shown his work at the Allan Stone Gallery, Ice Gallery, Kouros Gallery, and MB Modern, in New York; at Roger Lapelle Gallery in Philadelphia; at the Troika Gallery, Easton, MD; and at C Grimaldis, Baltimore, MD. He was President of the National Academy of Design from 1996-2001
